EUGENE, OREGON— It was a special week for Williamsburg City School as two student-athletes stepped onto one of track and field’s biggest stages, competing at the Nike Outdoor Track & Field Nationals at the legendary Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon.

Zyler Housekeeper and Lane Jeffries made the trip to the Pacific Northwest to test themselves against some of the nation’s top emerging elite competitors, and they did it with heart, pride, and a deep sense of purpose as they represented their school on a national stage.

Housekeeper competed in the pole vault, clearing an impressive 4.09 meters to finish 36th in the Emerging Elite Division. It’s the kind of result that reflects months of hard work, focus, and technical growth in one of track and field’s toughest events.

Jeffries took to the triple jump runway and recorded a distance of 11.84 meters, placing 59th in the Emerging Elite Division. Both athletes went up against strong competition from qualifiers across the country, and just earning a place in that field says so much about how far they’ve come.

The competition unfolded at Hayward Field, a storied venue that has hosted Olympic Trials, NCAA Championships, and so many unforgettable moments in track and field history. For these student-athletes, getting the chance to compete in a place with that kind of legacy made the experience even more meaningful.

Their journey to nationals means far more than marks and placements. By qualifying and competing, Housekeeper and Jeffries carried the Williamsburg City School name onto a national stage and showed exactly what can happen when talent, discipline, and determination come together.

Competing at the Nike Outdoor Track & Field Nationals is a huge moment in any student-athlete’s journey. Housekeeper and Jeffries earned their place among the nation’s best, and that accomplishment is a heartfelt tribute to their dedication, resilience, and competitive spirit.

Williamsburg City School is proud to celebrate these athletes, their hard-earned success, and the way they represented their community with courage, pride, and class on the national stage.
