McCreary Central Invitational Team Champions

WHITLEY CITY, KY-The Williamsburg Cross Country teams showed what they are made of at the McCreary Central Invitational, running incredibly well despite the heavy rain and messy storm conditions. Even with the tough weather, the Jackets took home individual titles, set personal records, and won a team title.

The Girls Varsity team completely controlled the pace of their race to officially become the overall meet champions. The girls packed it up at the front of the line, putting an amazing 4 runners in the top 10. Leading the pack was Tatum Croley, who won the individual title in the Girls Varsity Division. Croley crossed the finish line with a great time of 20:57.71 in the 5000 Meter Run to take first place. Running right up there with her were Abigail Workman, Marissa Meadors, and Lilah Linn, who all locked in crucial top-10 finishes to secure the team trophy.

The boys and the younger runners kept the energy going with great races of their own. Jack Brooks fought through the mud to finish in the top 10 of the Varsity Boys Division. In the Elementary Girls Division, Scout Ball left the rest of the field behind to win the individual title, splashing through the soggy course to finish the 2400 Meter Run in a quick 7:53.79. Keeping the momentum alive for the future of the team, Nate Maxey also ran an awesome race to place in the top 10 of the Elementary Boys division.

Even though the mud made it hard to keep their footing, the team still ran some of their fastest times of the year. An incredible 16 Williamsburg athletes set personal records (PRs) at the meet. Congratulations to all of our coaches & runners on a successful cross country invitational!
