KSA-Blue Overall Performance Rating

WILLIAMSBURG, KY. — Williamsburg Independent Schools is celebrating a wave of academic success following the release of the latest Kentucky Summative Assessment (KSA) results, which show district-wide gains and a top state ranking for the high school.

The data reveals a broad upward trend across the entire district, highlighted by Williamsburg High School earning a "Blue" overall performance rating—the highest classification awarded by the state. The high school achieved an impressive overall rank of #6 out of 228 schools in Kentucky. Notably, it also ranked #2 in the Reading & Mathematics Indicator and #8 in the Quality of School Climate & Safety Indicator.

According to the state report, all three school levels improved their overall scores over the previous testing year, with two of the three levels advancing their overall performance color ratings.

Kentucky’s accountability system evaluates schools across several individual indicators, measuring everything from academic subjects to school climate and safety. These separate metrics are combined to determine each school's overall score and final performance color rating.

Out of these indicators for Williamsburg City School, one maintained stability and seven showed positive growth. Those improving areas posted an impressive average increase of 25.0 points. Furthermore, five indicators outperformed the state average, and the high school’s overall score surpassed the state average by 22.9 points.

District and school leadership credited the strong performance to a strategic focus on data-driven instruction and targeted classroom support.

"This incredible growth is a shared celebration, and the success truly belongs to our dedicated students, hard-working teachers, and supportive families," said Josh Patrick, Director of Innovative Learning. "There are so many successes highlighted in the data to be proud of. We also recognize that there are specific areas of growth that require our attention.
